Catapult Making!

Whetu Catapult Challenge

The things that I used to make my catapult were: 5 rubber bands to stabilize everything, 7 popsicle sticks for the foundation, 1 plastic spoon for the pompom holder and 1 pompom to shoot out of the catapult.

To make my catapult I worked with Ashley because I know I can work really well with her and we are both very crafty.

The most challenging part was... using the spoon because it's very fiddly and I don't have much experience with plastic spoons.

Our best results were about a meter which we thought wasn't that great because we think that we can improve even more if we had the time.

Overall I think that we made an average catapult but there is so much more that we can improve if we had more materials and time, still I reckon we had a great time making it!

Discovery - Marilyn Monroe

Today I finished my Adobe Spark video about Marilyn Monroe. I decided to do an Adobe video because I have used Adobe before and every time I use it I learn more and more. I chose Marilyn Monroe because lots of people have heard her name but didn't know much about her so that's what  I tried to do - teach people more about her. I really enjoyed doing all of this discovery because it just fills my brain up with lots of knowledge. I think that my work is definitely a Supernova because I put my best effort into it!

Maths Mystery

On Monday I compleated my Maths Mystery challenge by my self. I really like doing challenges like this because it really gets you thinking about the answer. I think that the culprit was FLORENCE! because all of my clues let up to her. I had to solve lots of maths equations and every time I solved an equation I had to cross of people that don't match up to it.

Onomatopoeia Sentences

Yesterday I did the Onomatopoeia Sentance Worksheet before I wrote in the worksheet the teachers set us up with a few videos so we could understand what Onomatopoeia is. I really want to use more Onomatopoeia in my writing from now on because it makes writing a lot more fun to read! I think my Onomatopoeia writing is a SUPERNOVA! because I put my best effort into it.

Virtual Reality - Travel

Today I read an article about Virtual Reality - how to travel, after I read this interesting article I had to fill in a few questions. I really enjoyed learning about how to travel in the Virtual world, but I think I would rather travel in real life rather than wearing goggles! Overall I think I answered all the questions with lots of detail. I think that this learning is Supernova because I love learning about new things!

Emoji Challenge

This is my emoji that I made, I found this challenging because there are so many emojis, and we had to make one that was not already made! I hope that there is no other emoji that looks like mine. I think that I could have done a little bit more but I really don't know what else there is to add to it. I enjoyed making this emoji because every time I use Google Drawings I learn a little bit more every time!

First day of duck shooting

Yesterday was the first day of duck shooting, dad, his friend Tomo, Tomos dad, Sol and I went to the Maimai. Sol went really early in the morning with dad and then I went at around 4:00pm so it wouldn't be so cold. This year was my first year using a 4.10 shotgun so was it Sol's first year, I think I'm pretty good at aiming but there was no duck coming close to me so I aiming at other things. I think that our Maimai was pretty well hidden with all of the trees. Overall we ended up getting 13 Mallards, 3 Paridice ducks and Sol got one Swan. I think this was a really cool experience because it was a bit out of my comfort zone.

Term 1 Reflection

Week 1 Reflection

What has been my highlight this week, my highlight of this week has been seeing all of the teachers dressing up in CRAZY costumes because they always make me smile! and seeing all my friends after a long time!

What was I nervous about this week, I was nervous about forgetting anything that we do because we all haven't been here in a long time.

For dress-up day I dressed up as a flower girl because I had a flower headpiece that I thought was nice.

The funniest thing that has happened this week is all of the school dressing up because we all looked ridiculous, and nearly everyone waved at us when we walked.

I think the best-dressed person was... Chloe because she wore 2 layers of a different costume, and I thought that was really cool!

Milk bottle creation

The milk bottle creation I made was an Owl, I made an Owl because I really like that animal and I really wanted something with feathers.

The hardest part was cutting out all of the feathers because I needed lots of them.

The easiest part was glueing the feet onto the bottle because that's all you need to do!

enjoyed putting all of the finishing touches on it, like the eyes and the feet.

And most of all I enjoyed looking at my finished product.

Fabulous Finish, Descriptive Passage

This week was the final week of Chapter Challenge for this book. I chose to do Descriptive passage about Fudge because there was so much to say about him. I got some inspiration from the book the teachers gave us as an example. Underneath all the writing I drew a picture of him. I think it turned out to be a SUPERNOVA!! because I think I put lots of effort into it.

Offline Wednesday drawing

This is my offline Wednesday drawing, earlier this year I took art classes with Gabriella Challis (a really good sketcher). I got lots of tips from her about drawing and sketching, and just now mum has brung something in the mail for me and it's from Gabriella Challis!!, inside of it is a few drawing practices yay. Well in the meantime this is my drawing that I just did for fun. I think it's a Supernova!! because I have used all the tips she gave me and I made this...

Monkey Mystery

This is my Monkey Mystery challenge I really enjoyed doing tasks like this because there are lots of different maths challenges to solve this mystery. I had to solve lots of different maths challenges to find the monkey who caused all of the monkeys to escape the zoo. I think I got the correct monkey who made this mess, I think it is... Ash because all the answers added up to her. For my effort out of 10 being the best and 1 being the worst I choose... 9 because I think I put lots of effort into this mystery!

Whetu Fitness

Today Sol and I did Monday's task for Whetu Fitness to make a path with stuff from outside to walk on because we were playing the ground is lava. This was very fun to make because our dogs were also helping us make it! We tried to make it easy but challenging at the same time so we could really give it our best shot! Sol and I both really enjoyed making it and walking on it. The dogs were a great help with making it but they didn't do very well at walking across it. Out of 10 for our efforts in building and walking over it, I rate it a... 9.5 because we gave it our best shot.

Lockdown Diary

Today I filled in this Lockdown diary from the Fozzie's learning constellation doc. We had to fill in the pages of the slide about what we have been doing in lockdown. This task was really fun because it gave me good topics to write in. I found it hard to read the subjects because they were all in a different size and font.

Egg Carton Penguin

Today I made penguin out of an egg carton, this was really fun to do because I love doing crafty things. By far the hardest thing to do was cut the egg carton dividers because it was so fiddly. I really enjoyed painting them because they turned out so cute. Out of a simple star a shooting star and a Supernova as the best, I chose a... SUPERNOVA!! because they turned out really good in my opinion.

Mothers day!

Yesterday was mothers day, I made my mum an origami flower and a old plate with a big flower on it. In the holidays before school started, I went to camp for 10 days, there was supposed to be a winter camp now but now we can't do it so we have been on Zoom doing a peulah (that means activity in Hebrew) every Sunday for an hour. The most recent one we had to get an old plate and make a big flower on it that represents our mum. My mum really liked the gifts. Out of a simple star a shooting star and a Supernova as the best I chooses a SUPERNOVA!! because I really liked how it turned out.

Kite making

Yesterday it was an offline day for the school so no one could go on their devices, but the teachers had the day planned we made kites!. I really enjoyed making kites with my family because everyone has their part to do. At the back of our lawn, we have huge trees and lots of bamboo so we used the bamboo for the posts down the middle and around the sides. We had this plastic hanging around that we thought would be good to use as the sails, (we made sail on both sides of the bamboo). Then we made a tail out of yellow ribbon. We haven't decorated it yet but we are thinking of printing out an outline of a bird and spraypaint over it to make kind of like a silhouette. Out of a simple star a shooting star and a Supernova as the best, I choose a... SUPERNOVA because the kite turned out really well.
(These are photos of progress).

Ch Ch week 4 bake

This is my Chapter Challenge for this week I made some Anzac cookies to give to the nurses that removed Dribble from Fudge as a gift. I really enjoyed doing this task because I love baking around the house so this one is for me. Out of a simple star a shooting star and a Supernova as the best I rate it a... SUPERNOVA!! because I really liked how they turned out.

Murder Mystery

This is my Murder Mystery challenge for this week. I had to solve challenges that make out a sentence that gives a clue on what the murder looks like. I really enjoyed this mystery because there were all sorts of different ways to make the sentence. Out of 1-5 1 being the easiest and 5 being the hardest, I rate it a... 4 because it was pretty hard but easy at the same time.

Chapter Chat

Today I have finished my Chapter Chat, I made a poster with simple German words and sentences. I'm really happy with what I have done be...
