Whetu Egg Drop Challenge
Today for our Whetu Challenge we had to create something hold our egg and keep it from cracking when our groups would drop it from the Grand Stand using only 3 straws, a pair of scissors some string, a roll of tape, an old sock and 2 balloons.
In this challenge, I was working with Chloe and Ashley because I know that I can work well with them during creative challenges that we do!
I found that we worked really well as a team while constructing our egg holder because everybody had their part to do and make.
I found that getting started and getting into one plan was a bit difficult because everyone had their own ideas at first before we settled on one.
In the end, our construction looked super cool because Ashley drew 2 angry eggs on our ballons and both of them said the word '' YO! '' and we all thought that that was really funny. Overall our egg did not break so we are really really happy that we made it to the finals!

Literacy Mystery
Today I have finished the Literacy Mystery challenge, It is very similar to the maths mystery challenge just with literacy questions instead of maths questions. I found this task really fun because it was a chance to recap on my literacy knowledge! I really think that I have got the correct person, I think that the culprit is... Tessa the terrible! Overall I rate my work a Supernova because I have put all of my knowledge into this mystery challenge!

Maths Investigation
Today I have compleated the maths investigation challenge, we had to cut out circles then fold them and lastly we had to cut out shapes then open it up to see the pattern. This was really fun because I really like doing crafty things and I think that this is pretty crafty! I made predictions on what I thought my circle will look like when it's open ( I think that I was pretty successful ). I think that it kind of looks like a snowflake so I will probably do something like this at Christmas time. Overall I rate my work a Supernova because I think that I have put loads of effort into my work!

Matariki Star
Today I have compleated the Matariki star puzzle, we had nine pieces each piece was about one of the stars in the cluster. I found this challenge really fun because it gave us a chance to show what each of the stars are about but in a visual form. I thought really hard about my design on each of my pieces so the viewer could see exactly what each star means. I connected with Ihi because her and I came up with some really cool ideas together! I am super happy with the outcome of my star because I think that I have put a lot of effort into each piece! Overall out of a simple star a really low rating of effort, a shooting star a higher effort, and a Supernova the best rating I rate my work a... Supernova because I put a lot of effort into it!

Maths Investigation
Today I have compleated my maths investigation challenge, we had rods and different instructions then we had to make lots of shapes within the instructions. I found that the first 3 questions the easest because I knew them first thing but the last two questions I found a bit more challenging because I had to really think about what the question was asking me. Overall I am really proud of what I have accomplished so that's why I rate my work a Supernova!!
Matariki Worksheets
Today I have compleated 3 Matariki worksheets, one of them was a word search another one was a fact or fiction sheet and the last one was where we had to connect the questions with the answers. I found that the word search was really easy but still really fun to solve because I think that I have had lots of experience with all sorts of different word searches! The fact or fiction sheet was really fun because it was an option for me to show my knowledge of Matariki! Overall I rate my work a... Supernova because I think that I put my best effort into it!

Word of the week - Oblivious
Today I have compleated the word of the week challenge, the word was oblivious. When I first saw the word oblivious I was like "I have heard this word before but what does it mean?" so then I was really excited to learn about it! I found out that it means having no idea of what's happening and basically clueless. I will definitely use this word in nearly every single piece of writing that I will do! I will also use it in my speech just to make it way more interesting. Overall I really like the outcome of my work so out of a simple star, a shooting star and a Supernova as the best I rate my work a... Supernova because I love the outcome of my work!

Maths Challenge - Code breaking
Today I have compleated the maths mystery challenge, this weeks challenge was a bit different because instead of having a suspect list we had to break the codes. This challenge was a bit easy for me because it had continuous questions to I got a bit bored. This challenge had the theme of summer so all of the questions were related to that theme. I think that Times Tables Rockstars had really helped with my answers because most of them were times tables. Overall out of a simple star an ok rating, a shooting star a meh rating and a Supernova as the best rating I choose a... Supernova because I had lots of fun with breaking the code and figuring out the answers!
Blog Challenge - My kiwi holiday
Today I have compleated the blog challenge - My kiwi holiday, we had to plan our dream kiwi holiday with a budget of $1000. I decided to plan my holiday on google docs, I used a table to plan out what my days will be like. I tried to add links and images to really show my viewers lots about what I am doing where I will be going. I found this plan a bit challenging for me because I really want the reader to know all about my plan. This challenge was really fun in my opinion because it made me think a lot about where I was going and what I would be doing. First, my family and I would drive down to Palmerston North stay there for 2 days then go to Napier for 1 day and after that, we would come home and that would be the end of the holiday. Overall I rate my work a Supernova effort because I love the outcome of my work!

Matariki jigsaw
Today I have compleated the Matariki jigsaw activity. Since this puzzle had very big pieces we had to work throughout this week and last week. I found that this challenge was really fun to learn about and also very fun to make it look pretty! I really enjoyed learning about Matariki because every puzzle piece that I complete I learn more and more information about Matariki that I can show other people about. I decided to make the background with red, yellow, green and orange in pocadots ( but lightly because if it was too dark it would drag people to look at the colour instead of the facts ). I found that cutting the pieces wasn't that fun but placing the pieces together to make the puzzle whole was really fun to do! Overall I rate my work a... Supernova because I love the outcome of my work and I think that I put a lot of time and effort into my puzzle!
My Term 3, 2020 Reflection
My Term 2, 2020 Reflection
The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term is probably the Maths Mystery Challenges because it’s a really fun way to work on my maths. I really have to use my brain to think about what the questions are asking me to do.
Something that has challenged me this term has been the Number of the Day maths. It’s very new to me and I still have to get used to it, but every time that I keep doing it and doing it, I don’t struggle that often with it anymore!
The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was probably the Tennis Ball Tower Challenge because I worked in a group with someone that I don’t usually work with. We really had to think a lot about the structure and how it would work, that’s what made it so fun!
The opt-in workshop I enjoyed the most was the roll - a - drawing workshop because I really enjoyed drawing things that are out of my comfort zone. Now I’m loving doing this workshop at takaro time and any free time that I have!
An aim I have for my learning is to continue to have high standards and make all of my learning even better than before so that I can really excel in the rest of my learning!
