Word of the week - cacophony

Today I have compleated the word of the week challenge, the word was cacophony. At first, when I saw the word I had no idea what it meant or how to say it but then I found out that the word cacophony was pronounced Kah-ko-fuh-nee and that it means a loud and annoying noise. I find it really fun learning about new words that can make my writing a whole lot better! Overall I had lots of fun learning about cacophony so I rate it a Supernova effort!

Blog Challenge - Redesign my dream bedroom

Today I compleated the blog challenge I had to design my dream bedroom on google slides. This challenge was really fun because it let me explore more about what I can and can't do on google slides. On the first slide, I made it look like that was one side of my bedroom and then on the second slide, I made my bedroom from a different angle. Overall I really liked my room and if I ever decide to redesign my room I would use this as a plan! I rate my work a Supernova because I love how my finished product looks like!

 

Maths Mystery - Murder at the Movies

Today Ihi and I solved the Math Mystery challenge, Murder at the movies. This mystery challenge was really fun because it was challenging for Ihi and I. We really had to think about what the description said because if we didn't then we really would not have worked out the mystery. There was really no point doing the last slide because we only had one person left. Overall we think that the murder is... Berneice Lowry because she was the last person on our list. I rate our work a Supernova because I think that we have got the correct suspect!

Matariki Jigsaw

Today I have finished the Matariki Jigsaw, I had to fill in 4 sheets of Matariki facts. I find learning about Matariki facts really because I can share my learning with other people outside of school! After I filled in all four sheets with lots of information I thought that it looked a bit plane so I decided to add some colour as in light colours poca dots. Overall I really like the finished product so I rate it a... Supernova because I'm really happy with the outcome of my work!

Matariki facts

Today I filled in the Matariki worksheet, I had to read a little information about Matariki then tick what was true and what was false on the worksheet. I really enjoyed learning about Matariki because I can spread all of this information about Matariki to my family and other people that might be interested!  Overall out of a simple star the lowest rating, a shooting star an ok rating and a Supernova as the highest rating I choose a... Supernova because I think that I got all of the questions correct!

 

Roll - a - Drawing

Today I chose the Roll - a - Drawing workshop, I decided to choose this workshop because I wasn't really sure what this workshop was about. I found out that Roll - a - Dice was when you had to roll a dice and whatever the dice number it landed on you had to draw whatever category that you choose. I ended up drawing 2 monsters and 1 spider. Overall I really enjoyed drawing these monsters and spider because... well, they're really fun to draw and I can also show my family this new game that we can play altogether!! I definitely rate my work a Supernova because I love this really fun game and I love the outcome of my drawings!

Paper Planes!

Whetu Challenge - Paper Planes

Today our challenge was to design an accurate paper plane. We were given a draft piece of paper to trial and a good piece to use once we had tested the accuracy of it.

Before we started I thought this challenge was going to be really competitive because this class loves a good challenge!

I decided to use the design of flowers that I recently learned to draw, I thought that it would be really pretty on my plane. After that, I wrote Lola # 1 just for fun!

The hardest part was aiming my plane because we really didn't have much time to throw it into the runway.

During our competition time, I think I managed to score a 5 because it was really close to the runway number 5.

Word of the week - Bewildered

Today I compleated the word of the week activity, the word was Bewildered. I really enjoyed learning about the word bewildered because it's more information that I can use in my every day talking and writing! The word bewildered means puzzled or confused. I really think that bewildered can replace lots of boring words like confused. Overall out of a simple star the lowest level a shooting star an ok level and a Supernova as the best effort \I rate my work a... SUPERNOVA!! because I put my best effort into my work.

Maths Mystery - Missing pencil case

Today I compleated the maths mystery challenge, the missing pencil case. I find these challenges really fun but sometimes but most of the time it's just to easy for me because I really love a challenge! I think that the pencil case thief is... Ruby. Probably what I like the most about the maths mysteries is unscrambling the words and putting them into a sentence.  Overall I rate my work out of a simple star a shooting star and a Supernova as the best I rate it a... Supernova because I think I got te correct person!!

Blog Challenge!

Today I compleated the blog challenge, I had to make a new design for the birthday cards that Miss Coles and Mr Fraser give out every week! I had a bit of trouble with thinking of a design to use because I wanted mine to be different from everybody else's. Miss Coles and Mr Fraser wanted lots of colours and the word happy birthday on it so I really tried to make lots of colour into my card! I coloured the word happy with hot colours and then coloured in the background with cool colours, I did the opposite with the word birthday. To add a little touch in the centre I wrote the word awesome so it would say happy awesome birthday altogether, but the word awesome will be in a different font. Overall I rate my work a Supernova because I really like the outcome of my card!

Synthesis egg - White Whales

Today I compleated the Synthesis eggs worksheet, where I had to read an article about White Whales. I chose White Whales because I really didn't know much about any Whales at all! I really enjoyed doing this task because it's really good to learn about new things that I can also teach other people about. Overall I rate my work, out of a simple star as the lowest level a shooting star an ok level or a Supernova as the highest level, I rate my work a... SUPERNOVA because I put a lot of effort into my work! 

Sick Sentences

Today I compleated the Sick Sentences task, today's photo was very interesting it was a snail coming out of a strawberry! Today I wanted to add a bit more effort into it as in the list of nouns and the adjectives, and I really think that I hit that mark. After I finished my sentences I decided to write the pros and cons of being a snail, this was really fun to do because I love making something a little extra than before! Overall out of a simple star as the lowest rating a shooting star an ok rating and a Supernova as the best rating, I think that my work is a SUPERNOVA because I made my slides awesome! 

   

Doodling

Today during Takaro time at school I decided to do some doodling. At home, I watch this YouTube channel called Meagan Weller she does lots of crafty ideas that I really like, this was one of them. I drew some flowers and they look half realistic and half non-realistic, this was really fun and calming because I find that this task is super relaxing! Overall I rate my work a Supernova because I really like how my work turned out!

Word of the week - Luminous

Today I compleated the Word of the Week challenge, the word was luminous. At first, when I saw the word luminous I knew it had something to do with being bright but I didn't know the full definition of it. So when I reached about it I started to understand it more and more. I really enjoy learning about new words to make my writing a whole lot better! I rate my effort a Supernova because I put a lot of effort into it!

Today I compleated the blog challenge - Me in 2030. I had to fill in all sorts of questions that relates to what my life will be in 2030. I decided to make my own slide with the same just in a different layout! I found that this was a bit challenging because I really don't know what I'm going to do in 2030. Overall I rate my work a Supernova because I really put a lot of thought into these slides!

Maths Mystery - Pancake Pincher

Today I solved the maths mystery challenge, The Mystery of the Pancake pincher. I love doing these maths mysteries but some times like today they are just too easy for me, so I didn't really enjoy it. I think that my work is a Supernova because I got all of the clues right!

Synthesis egg

Today I compleated the Synthesis egg worksheet about fainting goats! At first, I wrote down what I already know about the topic then I read the article and wrote down what I learned after that I wrote my new understanding. I chose fainting goats because I knew a little bit about them but I wanted to know the full understanding of them, and I definitely learned a lot more about them. Overall I think that my Synthesis egg is a Supernova because I put my best effort into it.

Number of the day!

Today the teachers made a little worksheet called Number of the day, every day we have 1 number and then we have to fill in lots of equations around that number. Today's number was 34, I learned about bedmas and I think that if I keep learning about I will know more and more! I really enjoyed doing this task today because learn lots of new things! 

Sick Sentences

Today I completed the Sick Sentences activity, I had to write down nouns and adjectives then put them into sentences. I am glad that we are doing more of these activates to really boost our writing! We all had an image of an owl about to attack a wasp then we wrote all of the nouns and adjectives about the image. I am definitely going to use this slide to help me with my writing!! I think my work is a Supernova because I put my best effort into this!

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Today for our Whetu Challenge we worked in a group to build a tower out of newspaper, 2 straws and sellotape. We needed to make our tower strong enough to hold a tennis ball and be able to stand alone (not leaning on anything or needing support).

Today I worked with Ashley and Taylor B because I know that I can work really well with them!

At first, we had trouble with our idea on what we were going to do, but in the end, we went with Ashleys AWESOME idea to have long legs to hold everything up.

The easiest thing was rolling up the newspaper to make our support beams because I think we have all had experience with rolling up newspaper!

The best part of our tower was admiring it in the end because it looked really good with the hight and the strength of it.

Our tower looked really good because as I said before it was really tall and super strong!

In the end, our ball managed to stay in place without falling off, our length of the tower was 76cm which I think is amazing! plus the fact that we made it into the top ten for the tallest tower in the class!

Word of the Week

Today I did the word of the week challenge, the word was cantankerous. When I first looked at the word I had no idea what it means but when I did my research I found out that it means a very grumpy person and not very nice. I enjoyed doing this task because I love learning about new words that I can use in my writing! This is definitely a Supernova because I love learning about new things!

Card towers at home!

Today I  had so much fun making card towers at school so I decided to make a really big one at home. I found some Ono cards so I decided to use them. I managed to make my tower 5 stories high, which was a little bit hard because when I was doing my second layer of the tower lots of cards kept falling and falling! But in the end, I think that I used Resilience with making this AWESOME tower. It's definitely a Supernova in my opinion.

Synthesis Sentences

Today I filled in the sick sentences work-sheet along with the article that went with that. I read an article about dinosaurs and where they used to live. For the worksheet, I had to write what I already knew about dinosaurs then I had to read the article, then I had to write the new information about dinosaurs that I learned, after that, I had to write my synthesis ( my understanding ). Overall I think that my effort was definitely a Supernova! because I put lots of effort into it!

Today I finished my maths mystery challenge, I solved this challenge with Emily. I really enjoy doing maths mysteries because it really gets me thinking. But in my opinion, it wasn't that challenging for me because I had to take one look at it and I already knew the answer. I think my effort is a Supernova! because I put lots of effort into it.

Sick Sentences

Today I filled in the Sick Sentences worksheet, I had to write some nouns and some adjectives then make cooler sentences than the ones that they put on. I enjoyed filling this in because I always learn new things that I will definitely put in my usual writing. I rate my work a Supernova because I put my best effort into it!

My pet - Buddy & Calos

Today I made a poster about my 2 of my pets, Calos & Buddy. I had to write a description about them with several different topics. I decided to 2 posters 1 for Calos & 1 for Buddy so it could be equal between them. I really enjoyed writing about them so people could know more about my pets! I rate my effort a Supernova! because I put all of my effort into these posters.
